Foreign Exchange:

Hosted French student for two weeks and lived with student's family in France for two weeks (Spring '17).

Volunteer Work:

Travelled to Vietnam with LoveAcrosstheOcean.org Charity. Distributed supplies to villagers and an orphanage for agent orange victims in Dong Ha. Worked with Thien Le to donate money, food, and medicine to pediatric cancer patients at Hue Central Hospital.

Work Experience:

After years of accumulating self-taught cooking skills,

I was able to land a job as the pasta bar cook at an Italian restaurant. This helped me develop my customer service abilities and explore different ethnic cuisines.

Ethnicity:

Being a half white, half Vietnamese American, it has been important to me to retain my Asian heritage and stay an active member of my Vietnamese community. When I was younger, I participated in dragon dancing and Kung Fu demonstrations around the Twin Cities.

In high school, I visited family in the North, Central, and South regions of Vietnam who were displaced from the war. We turned our reunion into a charitable mission trip.
